What sets it apart is everything it does once it's finished. A wind-up rubber-band drive activated with a key sends it rolling, the front wheels rotate, the front doors open, the truck stoppers retract, and the fire ladder extends and rotates, real fire-engine features that turn a static model into something you can actually demonstrate. At roughly 14.9 × 3.9 × 4.8 inches, it has real presence on a shelf or desk.
