Return Policy

At Curio Wonder, we want you to love every kit you build. If something is not right, we are here to help. This policy explains how returns, refunds, and exchanges work. It applies to orders placed on shopcuriowonder.com and shipped within the United States.

Our 30-Day Return Window

You have 30 days from the date your order is placed to request a return on most items. To be eligible, your item must be:

  • Unused and in the same condition you received it
  • Unopened, with all original packaging, seals, and shrink-wrap intact
  • Complete, including all pieces, inserts, instructions, and any promotional materials
  • Accompanied by proof of purchase (order number or receipt)

Because our kits contain many small, individually counted parts, we can only accept change-of-mind returns on kits that remain sealed in their original packaging. Once a kit has been opened or a build has been started, it cannot be resold and is no longer eligible for a change-of-mind return. This does not affect your rights when an item arrives damaged, defective, or with missing pieces (see below).

Final Sale Items

Items marked "Final Sale" cannot be returned, exchanged, or refunded, except where the item arrives damaged or defective. Final sale typically applies to:

  • Clearance and deeply discounted items
  • Open-box or last-chance inventory
  • Gift cards
  • Seasonal or limited-edition items where noted

The final sale designation is clearly stated on the product page before you complete your purchase.

Damaged, Defective, or Missing Pieces

We inspect our inventory before it ships, but shipping is rough and manufacturing is not always perfect. If your kit arrives damaged, has a defective part, or is missing pieces, we will make it right.

  • For shipping damage, contact us within 7 days of delivery.
  • For missing or defective pieces, contact us within your 30-day return window.
  • In either case, include your order number and photos of the item, the affected part, and the packaging.

For missing or defective pieces, we will often arrange a free replacement part rather than a full return, which gets you back to building faster. Many of the brands we carry (including Rolife, Robotime/Rokr, and Eco-Wood-Art) supply individual replacement components, and we will coordinate this for you at no cost. If a replacement is not possible, we will offer a full refund or a replacement kit.

How to Start a Return

  1. Email us at returns@shopcuriowonder.com with your order number and the reason for your return.
  2. We will review your request and, if approved, send return instructions and a return authorization.
  3. Pack the item securely in its original packaging.
  4. Ship it back using the trackable method we provide.

Please do not send items back before receiving a return authorization. Unauthorized returns may not be processed or refunded.

Return Shipping Costs

  • If you are returning an eligible item due to a change of mind, you are responsible for return shipping, and original shipping charges are non-refundable.
  • If the return is our error (for example, we shipped the wrong item) or the item arrived damaged or defective, we cover return shipping and provide a prepaid label.

We recommend a trackable and insured shipping method. We cannot be responsible for items lost or damaged in return transit.

Restocking Fee

We do not charge a restocking fee on eligible returns.

Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you of the outcome. Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 5 to 10 business days. Depending on your bank or card issuer, it may take additional time for the refund to post to your account.

Original shipping costs are non-refundable, except where the return is due to our error or a damaged or defective item.

Exchanges

The fastest way to exchange an item is to return the eligible item for a refund and place a new order for what you want. If you received a damaged or defective item and want the same kit, contact us and we will arrange a direct replacement at no cost to you.

Order Cancellations

If you need to cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible. We can usually cancel an order before it ships. Once an order has shipped, it falls under the standard return process above.

Gifts

If you received an item as a gift, you can request a return or exchange within the 30-day window. Refunds on gift returns are issued as store credit to the recipient, unless the original purchaser requests otherwise.
